VAUXHALL BADMINTON CLUB
We are a friendly but still competitive club who play at the Vauxhall Recreation Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire, on Tuesday nights from 7-10pm, with 4 courts at our disposal.
The leisure centre is felt to be the best in the County, with an excellent sports hall, changing facilities and large on site bar.
New members are welcome all year round, unfortunately we do not except beginners to the Tuesday club. If you are a beginner please see the Vauxhall Misfits section below.
Senior Club
We currently have 51 members, with a 60/40 split between male and female players. Ranging from an intermediate level to experienced across a wide age range. The club also places 12 teams in local leagues.
At the end of each season we also run handicapped club championships for members to compete at singles, doubles and mixed competitions.
Winter season
The badminton season runs from September to May. Visitors are permitted to attend for 3 weeks before a membership application can be made.
Visitors Fees;
Adults £5,
Under 18 / Students (U21) £2.50,
Membership Fees; (Reductions made for late joiners)
Adults £100
Students U21 £75
Under 18 £50
Upon joining visitors fees are fully refunded or deducted from membership.
Summer Club
From June to August we run a summer club. The club runs as normal on Tuesday evenings from 7-10pm but with a more relaxed atmosphere.
Summer Visitors Fees;
Adults / Students U21 £5
Under 18 £2.50
Members offer - £30 for the whole 11 week period.
(Members not taking up the offer will have to pay £5 per visit).
Vauxhall Misfits
We also run a development club which offers coaching, games and matches for beginners 16+. Sessions run on a Sunday morning 10-12pm at the Vauxhall Recreation Centre. Please E-mail vauxhallbc@hotmail.co.uk or see the coaching page for more information.
